My little brother got into outer space and stuff so my step-mom bought him a place mat with all the planets on it. When I first saw it, I was upset, because it was newer and so Pluto wasn’t labeled. I was about to say something when I noticed something…

Pluto is there.

The artist remembered Pluto.

Guys…

The artist drew Pluto crying.

I hope there’s a heaven because of kids like you.

Today, an 8 year old boy passed away in my town from medulloblastoma, a form of brain cancer. His family has been journaling since his diagnosis, and I’ve humbly been following them.

This child was in pain for a majority of his life. He couldn’t always see, or sleep, or eat. Sometimes, splitting headaches made his short life a living hell. But somehow, he managed to laugh with his family, play with his legos, and love everyone who showed him affection.

Last night, he fell asleep forever, next to his family and his dog, in his own home. He wasn’t in pain.

It’s scary to think about how fast his life withered away. Less than a year and a half ago, he was a perfect 2nd grader, and 2 nights ago, he was on his deathbed in Dell Children’s Hospital.

Life is so easy to take for granted. No one thinks that this could happen to themselves or their families - but it happens more often than we think. Each day that we get, is another day that we can tell our friends and family that we love them.

Will, your life is an inspiration to many.
